THE SHIFT by M. ANN RICKS

Genre: Christian Fiction
Paperback: 342 pages
ISBN-10: 0991039955
ISBN-13: 978-0991039951
About The Book
There is a sense of urgency in the atmosphere as God is transitioning what the world has deemed impossible and unbelievable into the possible and the believable. Don’t be alarmed by the "sudden" moves of God.
Pastor Douglass and his family have been positioned for such a move but because of the dense fog of deception that seems to surround them, some in the Douglass family have created their own beliefs, fabricating their own sense of self; negating the truth, God’s truth, even when truth is staring them in the face.  They, like many, are living lives devoid of the knowledge of who they really are and robbing themselves and those they love of their true identity and freedom. Deeply embedded lies from enemy have blinded eyes, impaired hearing and hardened hearts and Angels from the army of God have been deployed. The assignment: the execution of God’s divine design.  Dreams, supernatural revelation and actual attacks from man's ultimate foe will expose all and confirm God’s plan for Xion, Veronica, Zeborah, Bo and Pastor Douglas. Can they handle the truth and surrender? Will the infrastructure of unbelief crumble?  The lives of the Douglass family will never be the same and neither will you, because of THE SHIFT !

NIKO by KAYTI NIKA RAET

www.diversebooktours.com

http://kaytinikaraet.com/

Niko was a fun book to read. Past the end of the world, after the water turned bad and monsters became normal. It was an a book that was quick to read.
I am giving this book a 5/5 star rating as I lost track of time reading it.

Plot Summary:

One can live for several weeks without food but only a few days without
water, a fact seventeen year old Niko is only too aware of as she
struggles to provide for her two younger brothers in a post apocalyptic
landscape where the rain burns like acid, food grows increasingly scarce
and any Slither that crosses her path is laid low before it can sink
its teeth into her.

Then one night everything she'd ever worked for
and loved is consumed by a raging fire, leaving her with one brother
missing, the other dead and herself gravely injured.

She's
rescued by the Rose Circle, a rogue group of Slither hunters. They sneak
her into Amaryllis City, a decadent metropolis where those able to pay
the exorbitant entrance fee live a life of relative ease.

But for
Niko, Amaryllis City is not the haven she grew up believing it would be
and her unique abilities as a Slither hunter make her a particularly
visible target to a city with hopes of experimentation, replication and
other nasty bits.

All Niko ever wanted to do was find her baby brother, but that's proving to be harder than expected.

About The Author:
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Kayti Nika Raet moved
down South when she was 11, where she was bitten by the writing bug, as
well as other, less friendly insects.

She is the author of the Outsider Chronicles, a five book
series starting with NIKO and set in a world where the rain burns like
acid and flesh eating monsters roam.

She’s also a reviewer for Readers’ Favorite and has her own Youtube Channel: Kayti Edition.

When she is not hard at work on her fourth book she has fun reading, listening to K-pop, and photography.

Kayti lives in Georgia.

MY REVIEW
Dia of the Dead was entertaining as well funny. Dia had to endure a hollywood party, which she did not like that is where it begins to turn fun. If you like the zombie attacks this is perfect.
What changes people or how a group of kids get together is for the reader to find out. What I will say is it is a page turner and entertaining.
Giving this a 4/5 star rating.

MY REVIEW
Pig Park is not about what it sounds like, pigs. Instead, a fun book about part of a city that had been mostly forgotten about due main company moving elsewhere and the antics of what they are going to do to get noticed.

The other people and the stores in the area along with storyline make this book fun and entertaining.
I am giving this 4.5/5 however it will need to be raised up in the stars to show a five star rating.

THE SECRET LIFE OF JENNY LIU by JEAN RAMSDEN

dbt presents jenny

MY REVIEW
There were different secrets with different students and teachers in the new school however the way the book was written made them tie in and playing off one another that The Secret Life of Jenny Liu is a fun and entertaining read.

There are times when a book will make you snort, cry, and then there are the ones that will make you just start laughing out loud. This is one of the books that I started laughing out loud, definitely 5/5 stars.

SHILOH'S POOL: AGAINST THE TIDE by JORI SAMS

ABOUT THE BOOK

We all love a tantalizing mystery. We all love the underdog pressing onward against seemingly unsurmountable odds. We all, in one form or another, are trying to make sense of the world around us. And all of these elements lie at the core of modern physics.

The story is among the grandest—the unfolding of the entire universe; the mystery is among the toughest—figuring out how the cosmos came to be; the odds are among the most daunting—bipeds, newly arrived by cosmic time scales trying to reveal the secrets of the ages; and the quest is among the deepest—the search for fundamental laws to explain all we see and beyond, from the tiniest particles to the most distant galaxies. It’s hard to imagine a richer point of departure.

Long before Shiloh sat alone on the bus heading west to historic Sevilla, she was mystified. Moving across the mental timeline of her life, one emotional image unfolded after another. Some would force a chuckle; others left her clinching her chest in pain.

Filtering through the memories, there was one burning question that paralyzed her over and over again. How in the world did she get there?

Join Shiloh on her life adventures during the first of a multi-book series, Shiloh’s Pool: Against the Tide. Her story must be told…

MY REVIEW

Shiloh's pool was not what I expected. It was about looking back on life and seeing the mistakes, heartache, and joys, of growing up. Close to end, a tissue may come in handy as well.
This book had every emotion you could have and a was hard to put down. I am giving it 5/5 stars.

MY REVIEW

Beautiful Wilderness is beautifully written to highlight the strength that God can have in someone's life. As I read the title I was excited thinking it was about the wilderness however that is only a metaphor. Without giving anything away it is the wilderness that God will use in a persons life to teach important lessons to.

I am giving this book a 5/5 star as it also makes a reader reflect on their own life.

Book Title: The Michelangelo Effect:
Keys to Extraordinary Success for Ordinary People

About The Author

Nekesa Ouma-Namulu describes herself as a 'true citizen of the world,' having the privilege of calling many places home. She was born and brought up in Nairobi, the capital of that picturesque nation on Africa's eastern coast, and moved to London where marriage and career made Europe her second home for almost two decades. Her career as a Computer Networking Systems consultant, which included a year with Cisco Systems, saw her spend many happy hours in data centres all over the world, fiddling with fibre-optic cables plugged to huge data switches alight with dozens of different blinking lights. Work saw her set up camp in Mexico City, Seoul and most recently Paris, which led her to conclude, "no-one does a strike quite so thoroughly as the French." Nekesa has published a computing book, which sits happily next to others in UK libraries, as well as a children's fable. Today, Nekesa and her family split time between homes in Kenya, Spain and the UK.

FOUND ALL THE MISSING REVIEWS...

As I was going through I believe I found all the missing reviews. I have a notebook with the books to read and the blog with the reviews. If by chance I have overlooked one please send me an email and I will get that review up.
Thank you for all your patience.

RUINATION: WORLDS APART BOOK 1 by AMANDA THOME

Ruination is a great book. The further you get into the book the more it gets away from the style of other books and move into the direction it will of its own.
The threats, lies, secrets, terror, loss of rights and suppression of the people by the government, (sound familiar) is just one aspect I will share of the book.

Ruination is a rating of 5/5 and I cannot wait till the next part comes out to see what happens next.

This is the last review that I found that was not posted.

RISING by HOLLY KELLY

Rising was interesting and fun to read. I have not read many books that a main character was challenged in one aspect but in turn the challenge turned out to be a wonderful aspect.
There is more I could say but I am worried it would contain spoilers so...got to read it for yourself.

Rising is rated 5/5 stars as I find there are different  things in the book that are unique besides a good book.

One of the lost reviews.

Hello again I am revamping this blog

Hello people I am revamping my blog again now that I am doing better! There will be page like a Journal for just my thoughts and ramblings. ...
