FAIRIES RING BY JAYLEE AUSTIN

FAIRIES RING
BY
JAYLEE AUSTIN

As Fairies Ring started out it was good but a little difficult to understand however as the story progressed it became clearer and got to be interesting with the more magikical involved intertwining with the growing love story.
The earth element I felt should have been explained a little more as it was used throughout the entire book. The element was used in a light (pun intended) that was tasteful and respected.

MY PERSONAL OPINION
NO HOLDING BACK

In my honest opinion this book is only an average book. I have read a lot worse out there. Do I think I will be reread this book? I doubt it. But it was fun to read this once. This is a book to read when you need to relax and have free time which I needed at this time.
And I am grateful for the chance that I was given to do a free review in exchange of this book.

ICE WIND (WIND DRIFTERS 2) by GUY STANTON III

Ice Wind is another great example of a book that will take you away from the first sentence to the last. After started reading the first page I finished that night.

The attention to detail along with using the Bible aspects in an adventure story is still making Guy Stanton III one of my favorite authors to read and recommend.
This is 5/5 with a you bet it is a must read again.

GRUMPY OLD WIZARDS by JOHN O' RILEY

GrumpyOldWizardsbanner

MY REVIEW
The first book in the series Grumpy Old Wizards was hilarious. Even with murderer on the loose magical witches and wizards are retired and acting do not act like their age. Every page there is something going on and making it a page turner just to see what antic is coming up next.

This is definitely worth a 5/5 as the series starts off with a bang.

Cover For Grumpy Old WizardsFifty years after the Disaster, the world is vastly different from days of old. Wizardry is the norm and magical talent is categorized. Josephine O'Connor, a seventy-year-old with a penchant for off-beat antics, is a category six, which means she possesses magical powers as rare as they are unsettling and a talent for psychometry that is so strong and acute that she can read the psychic impressions in a room without touching anything.

With her unique physiology, she’s over 80 years of age and still gets carded at R-rated movies. Most of the time it’s flattering but it can sometimes be a nuisance. For the most part, Josephine spends her days like any other retirement community member. She plays cards with friends, attends get-togethers, and occasionally visits the beach until she is called upon by the police to investigate a crime scene left behind by a suspect with powers equal to her own.

Now the race is on. Can an out-of-practice wizard marshal her abilities and catch a menace before he becomes so powerful even she can’t stop him?

Soon after starting her investigative work for the police, Josephine discovers a secret organization called the Valituras that has amassed ancient magic and power with single-minded determination. Her new assignment of defeating this agency may prove to be an impossible feat as their members have infiltrated all levels of the government including law enforcement and their advanced wizardry rivals her own. Josephine realizes she may be in over her head when the Valituras end up casting an immortality curse on her best friend, Helen, by mistake. To further complicate matters, her grandson’s eighteen-year-old friend starts hitting on her. Fortunately, Helen isn’t too broken up by the curse. Who wouldn’t want to live forever in a young, perfect body? Of course, everyone knows that dark magic always comes at a cost.Corruption is the 2nd installment in the Grumpy Old Wizard Series.Click here for a sample book excerpt.

Cover For Dark EnergyJosephine uncovers an important secret about the Valituras, a power-hungry organization that has lived in secret for centuries. They have amassed powerful dark magic and infiltrated all levels of the government. Now that their existence is publicly exposed and Josephine’s discovery leads to the capture of more Valituras agents, they decide to make a big move and declare war against the country. Josephine scrambles to protect herself and her loved ones from this powerful foe.

As she uncovers more clues in her search to expose the hidden identities of the Valituras leaders, her boyfriend grapples with his new talent of white magic which proves to be a potent yet unreliable source of power. Even as Mark’s abilities expand, he struggles to avoid burnout which will lead to a coma and reversion back to mainstream magic. When the U.S. government’s MADA department hires him to attempt restoration of an ancient historical site, American Stone Henge, the Valituras target him for termination.

As Josephine’s psychometry brings her closer to the truth about the Valituras, she fears the answers will come too late.

AN ARRANGEMENT OF LOVE by KENYA WRIGHT

Happy Valentine's Day readers! Welcome to the "An Arrangement of Love" Valentine's Day Weekend Book Blitz!

Author Kenya Wright's "An Arrangement of Love" is the star this weekend over at Diverse Book Tours. If you ever wanted to  know if there's a way to tell a love tale unconventionally, check out Kenya Wright and her other titles too!

Not sure? Check out the blurb!

He kissed me. And not just any kiss. He kissed me like he owned me, as if he bought me last night and my orgasm was the payment. His tongue didn't explore my mouth instead it taunted me, gliding in and out between my lips in a rhythm that reminded me of hot sex. He shifted his hand to the back of my head and trapped me to him. My bag and its contents dropped to the floor. . .

What would you do for six figures?

Billionaire Chase Stone offers Jasmine a six-figure job that requires a full-time commitment in his office as well as his bed. If only she knew that before she agreed, then life would’ve been easier. It’s not that he’s unattractive. Jasmine just didn't graduate from Harvard with honors so she could be some rich guy's over paid mistress. What’s even more repulsing is that he lives with three women and wants her to be the fourth.

Not going to happen!

But Chase won't give up, and Jasmine won't give in. Someone's going to have to change because the more they meet, the more something thick, hot, and electric bridges between them, until neither can breathe or think.

MY REVIEW
An Arrangement of Love is a hot steaming book where a man wants a woman who tells him no and he is not used to hearing that word. The chase begins and even though there is attraction will money buy him everything?

The book was good and was hard to find a place to put down as I wanted to see if the money, lust, or love would win. This book is a 5/5 and is hard to write a review without giving spoilers.

MY REVIEW

FAMILY SECRETS by DONNA M. ZADUNAJSKY

Family Secrets is a book with a family full of secrets that have been torn apart until some news comes about and changes everything. However, it is more about the powerful emotions the author writes with and conveys through the book that will make this book seem as if it could be taken from a newspaper, (maybe a bit of a stretch, not much though).
Being able to finish this book in just over a day along with laughing and crying it is getting a 5/5 rating. To not given anything away from the book like spoilers it is a must read as to why laughing and crying is involved.

THE LITTER by KEVIN R. DOYLE

Litter is a unique book that can only be called twisted and great at the same time. The book will keep the reader guessing what until near the end and then it is well surprising.
I love this book and have read it three times already and it never amazes me that I still get scared. This book is getting a 5/5 with a wish I could give it more.

NIGHTLIFE MOSCOW by TRAVIS LUEDKE

ADULT CONTENT IN BOOK

Nightlife Moscow is not the typical vampire going crazy blood thirsty book. The vampires in this book seem to have more class. Even with the adult scenes it was tastefully done and not as full of porn material.
I will say that this book kept my attention throughout and I wanted to read another book after this one finished. That is why I am giving this a 5/5.

ADULT CONTENT IN BOOK

FIRE WIND (WIND DRIFTERS #1) by GUY STANTON III

Fire Wind is written as a western. It could be written in any time frame as once again Guy Stanton makes the people and love of God come alive right off the page.
This is getting 5/5 with a wish I could give it higher.

PERSONAL NOTE

I normally do not read westerns and reading this one did not feel like reading a normal western. It had the setting and all, what it did not have was the normal long saloon scenes and shootouts. THIS IS BETTER!!

BONEFISH BLUES by STEVEN BECKER

Bonefish Blues is a intriguing mystery that could be considered relevant with different environmental issues of today and not just in the Keys where the setting is for this book.
However you look at the storyline it is an excellent read that will grab attention and not let go until the end and even then I asked myself, "if there was more?"

This being said it is getting a 5/5 rating and I hope I get to read more by Steven Becker.

RIVER OF BONES by ANGELA TOWNSEND

River of Bones is a curse with a mystery mixed in. This book could be called intense in some parts to some. I would say I am glad I do not live in the swamp that has a lazy stream like river on a old plantation property.

On a serious note this book was good with a good story line and areas that I got the spooks.

I am giving this book a 5/5 rating. Also it is one I am going to be rereading!

SINS OF THE FATHER by THELONIOUS LEGEND

sotfcover.png

MY REVIEW

Sins of the Father was a fun and exciting book to read. Once I started to read it I could not put it down. The ideas and scrapes the sisters get themselves into had me laughing to myself. I am giving this book a 5/5 star as I finished it in one night and was chuckling throughout it.
PERSONAL NOTE
I wanted to read a book that was fun and upbeat and this is what I needed. It also showed though how no matter how different sisters are or no matter how much they fight they will stick together when they need to.

THE DUNES by ERIN SANDS

THE DUNES, Releasing Your Fears, Restore Your Soul, Renew Your Life Virtual Book Tour
Genre: Christian- Mind-Body-Spirit-Self Help
Paperback: 230 pages
Publisher: The Dunes (May 22, 2014)
ISBN-10: 0615982948
ISBN-13: 978-0615982946
About The Author
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in the Bay Area of Northern California, Erin grew up with an innate love for dance, theatre and the written word. A graduate of Loyola Marymount University, Erin began her career in the arts as an actress and choreographer. After booking several notable roles in television and film, Erin began to use her gift of writing in blogs featuring political and social commentary, as well as developing content for theatrical use.
Although The Dunes, is a divine departure from Erin’s previous writings it is by far her most cherished work to date. “I wrote The Dunes initially as self therapy because I needed to release some painful experiences and disappointments from my past. I had this thirst to walk in the complete fullness of life with joy as my constant companion. I had no idea what effect it would have on other people. But when I saw people read it and be released from fears that had held them back for years…when I saw people forgive and be able to walk in the freedom forgiveness brings…when I saw people commit and serve and how those things opened up new opportunities in their life, I was just humbled. Humbled by the awesome power of God and humbled that I had been allowed to go along for the ride”.

When asked why she writes, Erin pauses and reflects on the truth of her heart. “I write because although I am only now beginning to truly love the process, I have always loved the outcome. Like a composer, words become my notes. I string them together in song eliciting the response of my reader, grafting a picture of my soul. Where besides the written word can you effect change so utterly and so succinctly? What besides the written word can pierce the universal collective mind? Everything begins with a thought, but it isn’t until that thought is articulated in written word and those words passed down can life changing movement happen. It must be written, it must be expressed on tablet, and when it is, we all become greater, whether the writing be genius or fatuity, it has evoked thought and debate. Why wouldn’t I want to be a part of that phenomenon? Why wouldn’t I want to share my story, give my testimony…add my paradigm to the mix? Whether it is a novel, a poem, an essay or an article, it is humanity visited. An insight into a new or sometimes shared truth. In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God. And with that I live my life”.
About The Book
If there was a journey that could masterfully change your life in seven revelations…would you take it?
In life, sometimes the kernels of wisdom and the richness of revelation can be found in the most innocent of stories; and so it is with The Dunes. Join one man and one woman in an exquisitely simple yet remarkably profound journey as you discover with them that the mountain you must climb in order to live the abundant life of your dreams is located squarely within your heart.

Illuminated in seven revelations; The Dunes carries the reader on a journey to not only examine the obstacles that are holding them back in life but to conquer and overcome them as well. With each revelation The Dunes intimately calls on the reader as the journey companion to face a challenge…a dare if you will that requires an uncompromising commitment to change. In the family of faith-based self help books The Dunes stands alone, simultaneously taking the reader from fiction to life and back again, equipped with a tailor made journal for the readers inner most secrets and reflections. The Dunes is part allegory, part testimony and part journal but the best part is the healing it offers your heart. When you’re ready to step out of your comfort zone and step into the miracle of your life…The Dunes awaits.
Caution: Readers of this book are subject to significant changes for the better. Side effects include frequent smiling and enjoying life in every season.

THE APPROACHING DARKNESS by SAMMY TIPPIT

The Approaching Darkness is a short book that  is inspirational as well informative.
The way the Christ is shared with the middle east and how strong faith can be. This is a must read if for nothing else to show the strength of God is showing still in these terrible times.

I am excited to read part two of this series. If anyone reading this is looking to read or want to look at the website the link follows.

THE MARRIAGE COUNSELOR by KEN HENSLEY

The Marriage Counselor is a decent book to read. First, the actual writing is good. The bad news about the book is it feels like two dimension. Using the saying, "I was like a fly on the wall" would explain how it felt to read the book.

The good part was the being able to see the bigger picture if you would take time and do more than just read through the words but think of it as a person's life.

I am giving this book a 3/5 star rating. I would love to read something else from Ken Hensley.

THE KINGDOM by GUY STANTON III

The Kingdom is amazing. This is a stand alone book, and may be fiction however it is a way of looking at different things in the Bible through Fantasy style world.
I have read through this book twice already and know that this is another one I have to save and read over and over.

Guy Stanton III once again shows he is a great author that is well worth more than 5/5 stars. This is one book that is a must read!
